Replace spreadsheets with an application of your own
When the spreadsheet has grown too big.
Spreadsheets are good for getting started. At some point, though, half the business depends on a file only two people understand. I move your spreadsheets into an application with a database, permissions and an interface everyone can use.
How you notice
- There is “List_final_v3_new.xlsx” and nobody knows which file is right.
- Only one person understands the formulas.
- Two people edit at once and a change gets lost.
How I work
Your spreadsheet is the best requirements document I can get. From columns, formulas and colours I can see which rules apply day to day. I build the application from that.
What used to be a formula or an agreement, the application checks itself. In BBG Lager, the system notices when an item is already booked for the requested period.
Several people can work at the same time. In the room allocation app, a bed cannot be given out twice, even if two people tap it at the same moment.
I bring your existing data over. If you still need a spreadsheet, for accounting say, there is an export.

Frequently asked questions
- When is it worth switching?
- When several people work on one file, data is often retyped or mistakes get expensive. A list one person maintains alone is usually fine in a spreadsheet.
- Will I lose my data?
- No. I move it into the new database and tell you where there are gaps or contradictions.
- Why not a no-code tool?
- For simple lists they are fine. A custom application pays off when the rules get more complex or the data should connect to other workflows.
