Custom web app development
Software built around your workflow.
Off-the-shelf software can do a lot, but rarely exactly what you need. Then the rest gets rebuilt in a spreadsheet. I build web applications that run in the browser and model your workflow the way it actually is.
How you notice
- You use a program, but half the work happens in a spreadsheet next to it.
- Clients email photos and documents, and somebody sorts them by hand.
- To get an overview, you have to look into three programs.
How I work
I start with the data: what exists in your business, and how does it connect? That sounds dry, but it decides whether the application still fits once it grows. For the database I use PostgreSQL.
Then come the interfaces. Administration needs an overview, clients need a short path. In Scale Content Kit, clients scan a QR code and upload their videos, and the team reviews everything in its own view.
It is built with Next.js, React and TypeScript. That is common technology that someone else can maintain too, should I ever drop out.
If you like, the application also runs as an installable app on the phone.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between a web app and a website?
- A website shows you something. In a web app you work: record data, handle cases, approve things. It still runs in the browser.
- When does it pay off compared to off-the-shelf software?
- If a ready-made solution fits, I would use that. A custom application pays off when your workflow is unusual or you want to bring several tools together.
- Can the application be extended later?
- Yes. New features use the same data, so you do not start over.
