Scale Content Kit
From QR code straight to the content team.
Scale Content Kit gives collecting photos and videos a clear flow: upload, review and move into production.
- Next.js
- Supabase
The starting idea
Before a team can make great content, it needs the source material. The idea behind Scale Content Kit: give clients a simple way into their kit so they can contribute photos and videos directly. A briefing and checklist help them know what to capture.
Uploading should feel like a quick task. The team needs more structure: which client and kit does the material belong to? What has been reviewed? What is ready for the next stage? Both sides need a different view of the same flow.
Why build it this way?
A QR code instead of a long introduction. A QR code leads directly to the upload entry point. The session links material to the right kit, so clients do not have to repeat that choice for every file.
Uploads can take a break. Resumable uploads can continue after an interruption. For video files, that is more useful than asking someone to start a large transfer again from scratch.
Keep files and context together. Next.js runs the application; Supabase provides the data and private media storage. The relationship between client, kit, upload group and file stays clear.
A detail from development
A video upload should survive a break
An interrupted connection is especially frustrating with a large video: the progress bar was almost finished, and now everything needs to start again. A simple client experience needs engineering behind it here.
Scale Content Kit uses resumable uploads so previously transferred parts can be taken into account when continuing. The session keeps the upload linked to its kit, so another attempt does not turn into material without context.
The solution
Clients open their kit using a QR code or access code and upload their media. The team manages clients and kits, adds briefings and checklists, and reviews the material in one media workspace.
Review and export follow from the same process. The interface keeps the client journey short and gives the team more control where material needs to be selected and organised.
What to take from it
A good upload starts before the file picker: with easy access and clear context. That turns individual files into a useful working process.
